It's 1938 Again!
Welcome of the forgotten days of our past!
Designer/illustrator Daniel Pelavin has meticulously recreated these matchbook designs in the form of the New Year's Calendar for 2011 or in this case 1938!
All the colors, designs, and fonts have been inspired from his collection of old matchbook covers and masterfully redesigned to give you that 30's romantic feeling. The slightly off printing, the shimmer of metallic ink, even the simple illustrations give you a sense of what it was like to be in the Art Deco and Depression Modern era.
Danny is the newly crowned King of Retro!

Gorgeous!
Danny is Tops!
Thank you Amanda and José. I like to think of it as mid-century modern.
I'll take your word on it but I always thought Mid-Century implied the 40's,50's and 60's!
"Close Cover Before Striking" and "Lick'em, Stick'em" are my MidCentury bibles and Mr. Pelavin hit a home run!
