The L-Unit System (1993) @ shigerubanarchitects.com uses L-shaped wooden units joined in a repeating pattern to compose chairs and tables. The use of a single type of unit allows flat packing for easy stocking and transportation. Bent plywood was used in the earlier stages, but in the finished product wood scrap from furniture manufacturers was utilized, cut to the desired dimentions with pre-cut holes to facilitate joint connections in addition to reducing the weight of each piece.
