Correct me if I'm wrong...but...wasn't the Star Wars piece a joint project with Drew Stuzan

Yes it was but I wasn't plugging him. Drew isn't one of my favorites.

Drew Struzan wouldn't like it if we keep misspelling his name. Yikes!

Where IS Charlie?

Michael Schwab- Check my labels for CWIII for my update or just go to his web site @ www.olioinc.net

I got this site from Michael Doret who worked with Charlie back in the 70's.

I work at olio and stumbled upon this site by accident. Charlie truly is an under-rated creative juggernaut.

if you are interested in getting anymore imagery let me know I could probably help you out.

S&S- He's not under-rated by Graphic Designers like Michael Doret, Michael Schwab, Danny Pelavin, and myself. We know his talents and throughout the years have admired them.
Me, I wanted to be him when I first started out as an illustrator in the mid-seventies. I became an airbrush wizard and had a file of all his worx I could find. I purchased every album cover he did.
After hearing that he disliked imitators, I pursued another avenue of illustration that suited me better. I didn't give up the airbrush till computers took over the earth in the 90's.
I hope he see's my postings of his worx as a tribute to one of the Greatest Illustrators still around and not a groupie's attempt of stalking!
Please feel free to email me direct to jose@x-factor-e.com with any and all images you have of his worx and with any info. I will be happy to include his copyright on all the images and hyperlinx to his site.
I am good friends with Michael Doret who worked with him in New York and he is sometimes amazed at some of the images I remember during their Fluid Drive days. Through Michael Doret I met Kenny Kneitel, who passed away years back, who also worked for CWIII.
Do you have an image of the Vegegatable Spitfire Ad for Birds Eye? I remember it but no one recalls it and I can't find it anywhere.
Thanx,
José Cruz

I worked for Charlie a few years ago, and it was one of the professional highlights of my life. Such an amazing draughtsman - I felt like I should've been paying him. And he's one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Truly an honor.

Never got to meet him but one never knows!

If you're ever in Venice, drop in. I'm sure he'd be glad to say hi.

BTW - thanks for the post - it was great to see his stuff again.

BTW-Do check out my CWIII updates on the blog.

Thanx Norman for that YouTube video of Charles White III. I will post that on my main page as an update. Thanks for your efforts in promoting The living legend, CWIII who I consider to be the best illustrator of the 70's, 80's, 90's and the 1st decade of the 21st Century.
Now I really sound like a Groupie!
